Construction Innovation

The BC Construction Association commissioned a study to examine best practices in construction innovation world-wide. The Construction Innovation Project examines what British Columbia can learn to be a leader in this area.

Building Pathfinder

The Building Pathfinder is an online, interactive design tool to assist with energy efficiency calculations for multi-unit residential building projects. It was developed by Open Technologies to help builders and developers ensure that new buildings meet increasing demands for energy performance.

Environmental Impact Calculator

This online tool was developed by the Urban Development Institute to help designers build more sustainable buildings by allowing them to calculate the environmental impacts of various design choices. Impacts are described in visible ways such as how many Olympic sized swimming pools of water could be saved, or how many trees would need to be planted to offset one choice over another.
