Monetary Penalty
Issue Date
On June 4, 2013, pursuant to s. 28.3(1)(a) of the Homeowner Protection Act(the “Act”), Virpal Kaur Gill (“Gill”), was issued a monetary penalty in the single amount of $2,250. This monetary penalty was issued for the following reasons:
- Gill, contrary to s. 14(1) of the Act, offered for sale, and sold, the new and never occupied home in Coquitlam, B.C. (the “New Home”), between March 15, 2012, and August 7, 2012, without being an Homeowner Protection Office (“HPO”) Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”); and,
- The contravention of s. 14(1) of the Act makes Gill subject to a monetary penalty pursuant to s. 28.3(1)(a) of the Act and s. 20.1(2)(b) of the Homeowner Protection Act Regulation.
