Reddog Logging Ltd. (“RLL”), Alana Kimberley Dickson (“A. Dickson”) and David Stewart Dickson (“D. Dickson”), contrary to sections 14(1) and 22(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), built or caused to have built a new home in Topley, BC (the “New Home”), between the period of, or about, July 2018 and March 2019, without being a BC Housing (“BCH”) Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”) and without the New Home being registered for coverage by home warranty insurance (“HWI”) provided by a warranty provider. On January 7, 2020, BCH issued Compliance Order 20-0001 to RLL, A. Dickson and D. Dickson directing that RLL, A. Dickson and D. Dickson:
- Immediately cease carrying on the business of a residential builder as defined in the Act. More specifically, RLL, A. Dickson and D. Dickson were ordered to cease engaging in, arranging for or managing all or substantially all of the construction of the New Home; and
- Immediately apply for and become a BCH LRB pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act and register the New Home for coverage by HWI provided by a warranty provider pursuant to section 22(1) of the Act.
RLL, A. Dickson and D. Dickson were directed to comply with Compliance Order 20-0001 by February 7, 2020.
