D.B.C. Construction Ltd (“DBCCL”) and David Cameron (“Cameron”) constructed a new home in Mission, BC (the “New Home”), during the period of, or about, March 17, 2016, and April 13, 2017.  Although DBCCL has been a BC Housing (“BCH”) Licensed Residential Builder (31397) since October 31, 2009, and obtained a commitment from an approved home warranty insurer on March 17, 2016, to provide home warranty insurance on the New Home as required by the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”) and the Homeowner Protection Act Regulation, the New Home was de-enrolled from home warranty insurance coverage by the home warranty insurer on April 13, 2017, contrary to section 22(1) of the Act. On October 26, 2017, BCH issued Compliance Order 17-0037 to DBCCL and Cameron directing that DBCCL and Cameron:

  • immediately register the New Home for coverage by home warranty insurance provided by a warranty provider pursuant to section 22(1) of the Act.

DBCCL and Cameron were ordered to comply with Compliance Order 17-0037 by November 17, 2017.
